Community First

G'day, I'm Benny. Bear Wines is my project, but it's really a community effort. I grew up around here and saw how much incredible fruit was being grown by local farmers. Sometimes, due to contracts or market shifts, perfect fruit doesn't find a home.

That didn't sit right with me. So I decided to step in, support our local growers by buying their fruit at a fair price, and turn it into something special.

Small batch, transparent

We make wine in small batches. This allows us to be hands-on with every barrel and bottle. We believe in minimal intervention where it makes sense, but we're not dogmatic. The goal is always clear, delicious wine that expresses the fruit and the season.

Sustainability

We are honest about where we are. Yes, we still have a diesel tractor, but we are committed to reducing our impact where it counts most.

All of our cooling, watering, and handling systems are 100% solar-powered. By sourcing locally, we drastically reduce food miles, and we use lightweight bottles to lower shipping emissions.

It's a journey, and we are committed to getting better every vintage.
